This church was constructed at Manzhouli station at the end of the western line of Chinese Eastern Railway in the village administration in 1903.

According to Harbin Diocese - Parishes in China for 1929, the rector of the temple built in 1903 in honor of St Seraphim was Priest Mikhail Avksentievich BELOV.

According to Fr. V. Gerasimov, in "Review of the Dioceses of Harbin on October 1, 1939", Heavenly Bread, Harbin, 1939, № 10, pg. 94, the rector was Archpriest T. Elisen, and the churchwarden was I. Ya. Butin.
