Fr Fotiy Huo served in Shanghai with Fr Elias Wen, then in Beijing and finally in the St Nicholas Cathedral in Harbin. Fr Fotiy was tall in stature, had a beautiful bass voice and was tortured in the Cultural Revolution, according to October 8, 2006 presentation by Archbishop Hilarion with special thanks to Fr Michael Li of Australia.
According to Harbin municipal religious and Daoli district archives, Fr Fotiy was the ninth rector of St Sophia Church of Harbin.
Fr Fotiy also served as rector of the Holy Transfiguration Church of Harbin.

Then he contracted tuberculosis, and left Harbin for Beijing for treatment. Fr Fotiy died due to illness on May 10, 1965 in Beijing.
