A theologian of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine lectured at the University of Hong Kong

Archimandrite Kirill (Govorun), Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, lectured at the Chinese University of Hong Kong on November 18th. The subject of the lecture, "The Orthodox Church in the world: modern challenges and responses", evoked a number of aspects of contemporary Orthodox life in the world. In his lecture Fr. Kirill touched on issues of Orthodox civilization, and models of church-state and church-nation relations, relations between Orthodox Churches, tradition and church law.

The lecture sparked a lively response from the teachers and students of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The lecture was also attended by the priest-in charge and parishioners of the temple of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Hong Kong.
