On August 28th, the patronal feast of the Most Holy Theotokos, the Orthodox [1] community in Beijing glorified the Mother of God in prayer and divine services on the territory of the Embassy of Russia. Following the Divine Liturgy, there was a service of prayer (moleben) with the blessing of water and a procession to the walls of Holy Dormition temple; restoration work is to begin in the next few months.
On August 29th priest Dionisy Pozdnyaev of DECR/MP congratulated Russia's newly appointed Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the Chinese People's Republic, S.S. Razov, on presenting his credentials on the same day; he wished him blessed success in his work and discussed a wide variety of issues concerning the restoration of Holy Dormition temple and church-state interaction in matters pertaining to the pastoral care for Orthodox compatriots and the fellow citizens living on the territory of the People's Republic of China.
