Theophany is celebrated in Beijing's Dormition Church

 

On the territory of the Embassy of Russia in China, in the temple in honor of the Dormition of the Theotokos, Priest Alexis Kiselevich conducted solemn divine services on Theophany Eve and the Feast of the Theophany.

The Orthodox in the city of Beijing attended the rite of the Great Blessing of Water on January 18 and 19. After the service, holy water was distributed to all believers. Dormition Church was built on the territory of Russia Orthodox Mission in Beijing in 1902.

After the Mission was closed, the Soviet Embassy's garage was located in it. Since the 90s Orthodox divine services have been conducted on the embassy grounds; these took place in the home church in honor of St. Innocent, located in the Red Fangzi. Restoration of the Dormition Church began in the summer of 2007. On October 13, 2009 the church was consecrated, and it now has monthly services.
