painted by the sisters of
Holy Nativity Convent

Hieromartyr Mitrophan (Metrophanes), Chinese priest of Beijing, was martyred at 10 p.m. on 10/23 June 1900 beneath a date tree in the yard of his residence, and is portrayed here in a full figure icon.

This icon is a reproduction of a 4½ foot wall icon in the Pillars of Orthodoxy Parish in Mt Holly Springs, Pennsylvania. The icon is painted by the sisters of the Holy Nativity Convent, Brookline MA, based on the original group icon of the Holy Martyrs of the Boxer Rebellion located at the dining hall of the Holy Transfiguration Monastery also in Brookline MA.

The scanned image on the right is from an icon print blessed for 40 days at St Mary's in Cambridge MA for the chrismation of Mitrophan Chin during Holy Pascha, 2001.

You are welcomed to freely distribute this scanned image, but please include a note that it is painted by the sisters of the Holy Nativity Convent.
