Chinese Language Orthodox Prayerbook
has appeared in Blagoveshchensk
English Translation by Nina Tkachuk Dimas

A brochure depicting the Blagoveshchensk[1] Cathedral on a glossy cover contains basic Orthodox teachings and well-known prayers. The project was realized with the financial help of the management of a Chinese company well known in the Amur region's capital. This is already the second such edition with a 1,000-copy print-run. The first came during the summer with advisory help of the Moscow Patriarchate's research group on the problems of the Orthodox Church in China.

The Blagoveshchensk diocese is studying prospects of preparing other Orthodox literature in the Chinese language. The churches of the Amur region regularly perform the sacraments of baptism for locally-residing Chinese citizens who wish to accept Orthodoxy, reports IA REGNUM in the Blagoveshchensk diocese.

[1] Translator's Note: Blagoveshcheniye is generally rendered as Annunciation in English, while the Russian word more correctly translates the Greek EVANGELISMOS as "THE GOOD NEWS".
