Holy Presentation Church (Nanguan)

The Sretensky Church dedicated to the Holy Presentation (or Meeting) of the Lord was located at the Russian Legation inside the Chongwen Gate on Dōng Jiāngmǐ Xiàng (today's Dōng Jiāomín Xiàng ) in Beijing. The Church was more commonly known as Nánguǎn.

On Sunday of the Myrrh-bearing women, April 12/25, 1909 - His Grace John, Bishop of Kirensky, Vicar of the Irkutsk Diocese, in the service of Archpriest Vostorgov and the clergy of the Mission, performed the liturgy in the Sretensky Church, at the Diplomatic Mission. Archpriest Vostorgov, Chairman of the Moscow Society of the Union of Russian People, said a word about the preemptive duty of the Russian people to instill Christianity in the Far East and that this duty lies with the Russian people of all ranks and positions living and serving outside the eastern border of Russia.
