Already available in English for many years, the monumental work of archpriest George Florovsky "The Ways of Russian Theology" has now been translated into Chinese directly from the original Russian by the Institute of Sino-Christian Studies in Hong Kong. Work on translation was done by Wu Andi, Xu Fenglin, and Sui Shufen with proofreading by Prof. Stephen Chan. The translation effort is partially funded with the support of the Orthodox Brotherhood of apostles Saints Peter and Paul in Hong Kong (Moscow Patriarchate).
The edition of the work, being the basic bibliographic directory on the history of spiritual culture of Russia, will allow the non-Russian speaking Chinese public to get acquainted with the appeal for a "return to the Fathers" in spirit and prayer within the theology of the Orthodox Church, and in particular as rooted in the spiritual tradition of Russian Orthodoxy.
Translated and published by non-Orthodox. Publishing in China required censorship on Chinese title to use Chinese word for philosophy instead of theology, so the Chinese title literally reads "Ways of Russian Religious Philosophy". Even with the title changed, it does not compromise the broad scope and integrity of the content of this book. Recommended but read with discretion.
