"The Bishop" - Diary of Metropolitan Ignatius of Khabarovsk and Amur
On May 14, 2012 an international motor race began in the territory of Russia and China. It is dedicated to the 67th anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War. And its main purpose - to honor the memory of our soldiers who were killed on Chinese soil, lay wreaths at the 46 monuments on the four large cemeteries in Harbin, Shenyang, Port Arthur, Jinzhou, in each of which are buried more than a thousand people. And in Port Arthur 15,000.
Our soldiers, officers and generals gave their lives in the Russian-Japanese war of 1904-1905, in 1937-1941 and in the defeat of the Kwantung Army in August-September 1945.
These motor races from Khabarovsk to China are taken place from year 2006. And usually, the participants are veterans, representatives of public organizations and the Eastern Military District. From this year on a journey of 7.5 thousand km., by the blessing of Metropolitan Ignatius of Amur and Khabarovsk, in the rally were included representatives of the Khabarovsk diocese: Priest Oleg Razumov, Provost of Trinity deaneries of the diocese and Andrew Kozhin, a teacher of Chinese language in Khabarovsk Theological Seminary.
According to Father Oleg Razumov, from May 19: "The trip is very involved, with huge load of work. 11 memorial services already served, with a homily delivered after each funeral service. On one day we served six. Today is the longest trip, about 600 kilometers. Please remember us with Andrew; work is very interesting, but the load is huge…"
It is expected that the motor race will end in Khabarovsk on May 26.
