MEDIA RELEASE June 22, 2008
Hamilton, CANADA — On Sunday, June 22nd, the parish of All Saints of North America in Hamilton, Ontario, hosted its third annual Chinese Missions Dinner, in support of the work of the Orthodox Fellowship of All Saints of China.
This year, the parish was blessed to host Hieromonk James (Corazza), Rector of the Old Russian Cathedral in San Francisco, California, who spoke on the missionary labours of Saint John of Shanghai and San Francisco among the Chinese.
Father James is known to many pilgrims as a knowledgeable host of tours of the various sites in San Francisco connected to the life of Saint John, including the saints holy relics housed at the New Cathedral.
The Orthodox Fellowship of All Saints of China (OFASC) is dedicated to supporting the translation of spiritual and liturgical books into the Chinese language, and to the support of Chinese seminarians.
The 2008 Chinese Missions Dinner raised about $1600 for the OFASC. Other dinners are in the works in various locations across the United States and Canada.
