Protopresbyter Elias Wen's Funeral

Protopresbyter Elias Wen's funeral service took place today at the Holy Virgin Cathedral in San Francisco. Serving with Archbishop Kyrill were Archpriests Alexey Poluektov, Stefan Pavlenko, Peter Perekrestov, Mark Gomez, George Kurtow, Sergei Kotar, Alexis Kotar and Yaroslav Belikow, Priest Sergi Kapitan, Hieromonks Juvenal and James, Archdeacon Andronik and Protodeacon Nikolai Triantaffilidis. Father Elias' large family (he had seven children) was present at the service. Father Elias was the eigth oldest man in the world.

At the funeral service Archbishop Kyrill read Metropolitan Laurus' letter of condolence. Condolences were also received from the Board of Trustees of the Orthodox Fellowship of All Saints of China as well as the parishioners of St. Peter and Paul parish in Hong Kong and Orthodox faithful in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
