On January 27, 2007, the day of the Leavetaking of Theophany, the first Orthodox divine service took place in the city of Lianyungang of the People's Republic of China in the workers settlement for Russian builders who are on a long assignment in China to build the Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant for the Joint-Stock Company "AtomStroyoExport".
Over a hundred faithful-compatriots attended Orthros and Divine Liturgy; 103 persons received communion. At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the Great Blessing of Water took place and three babies were baptized.
Father Alexis Kiselevich, a priest of the Moscow Patriarchate who conducted the divine service, presented 50 spiritual books to the Russian builders' library from the Russian Orthodox community of City of Shanghai which he serves.
At the end of the festal divine service gifts were given to all attendees — the New Testament, prayer books, icons and Orthodox calendars.
