On September 21, 2005 the Russian Orthodox community in Beijing observed the Feast of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos with festal divine services. The services were celebrated by priest Aleksey Kiselevich of the Russian Orthodox Church in the former house church in honor of St. Innocent of Irkutsk within the former residence of the leaders of the Russian Spiritual Missions in China which is located on the territory of Russia's Embassy in Beijing.
The All-Night Vigil and Divine Liturgy were attended by Russian Orthodox faithful — heads and employees of Russian state and commercial structures accredited in Beijing.
Following the service, Priest Aleksey Kiselevich gave a pastoral talk to those assembled. Dimitry Napara, the starosta [leader or elder] of the Russian Orthodox parish spoke about the meeting that took place at the beginning of September with community representatives and the leader of the Russian Orthodox Church and conveyed to the faithful the blessing and good wishes of ALEXY, the Most Holy Patriarch of Moscow and All-Russia, who steadfastly cares for Orthodox compatriots in China.
