Liú Gǔchāng
Metropolitan KIRILL (Gundiaev) of Smolensk and Kaliningrad, Chairman of the Department of External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, on January 20th gave a dinner in honor of Mr. Liu Guchang (刘古昌), the PRC's Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the Russian Federation.
DECR's press office reports there was a discussion of general Russian-Chinese relations, questions of inter-religious dialogue and the relations of society and religious associations. Special attention was given to the development of relations between the traditional religions of Russia and China. Ambassador Liu Guchang confirmed the desire for continued cooperation between the PRC in Russia and DECR/MP, which has received the support Chinese government authorities, whose next tasks were designated during the meeting.
Gifts were exchanged in memory of the warm meeting. Participating in the meeting were Mrs. Du Dewen, the councilor of the PRC Embassy to Russia; Mrs. Piao Yanfang, first secretary of the PRC Embassy in the Russian Federation; Mr. Xian Bo, third secretary of the PRC of the PRC Embassy in the Russian Federation; Bishop MARK of Egorevsk, Deputy Chairman of DECR/MP, and D.I. Petrovsky of DECR.
