Beijing Requiem for Soldiers who Died in the Great Patriotic War (World War II)

On May, 9 at a memorial cross on territory of embassy of the Russian Federation in the Chinese National Republic, a representative of the Department of external church relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, priest Dionisy Pozdnyaev, well-known for missionary activity in the Far East and hieromonk Damaskin Hristenen (Serbian Patriarchate) served a requiem in memory of soldiers who died in 1941-1945 on fields of battles of Great Patriotic War, informs RIA "East-media".

In the memorial list given to Father Dionisy by seaside veterans, names of Far East soldiers - buried in the cemeteries of Harbin, Dalian, Port Arthur, Changchun, Hajlara, Shenyang, Uhani, Northeast and the Central China. At the requiem were Russian diplomats and members of their families, employees of foreign embassies and consulates, members of Russian club in Peking, and compatriots living in the Chinese capital.
