Fr Feofan (Theophanes in Greek) was a teacher in the Huiren Russian-Chinese School in Beiguan, Beijing.
Fr Feofan was also known by the Russians as Fr Feofan Rui, as they took the first character of his Chinese given name as his surname in Russian.
