Built in 1911 as St Vladimir Church, and later renamed as St Nicholas Church, it was located along the former Chinese Eastern Railway at Mianduhe Station. According to Gerasimov, V., Fr., "Overview of the Diocese of Harbin on October 1, 1939," Heavenly Bread, Harbin, 1939, No. 10, 94-96, the rector in 1939 was Fr. S. Telyatiev and I.A. Shakhmatov was the Churchwarden.
