On July 31, 2010, some 500 schoolchildren from Russia arrived in China on the invitation of PRC chairman Hu Jintao. The Russian delegation included Russian Ministries of Education and Healthcare officials, as well as guides, doctors and physical exercise instructors.
On August 3, the schoolchildren visited the Church of the Dormition at the Russian Embassy and the museum of the Russian Orthodox Mission in Beijing to learn about the past and present of the Orthodox community in Beijing.
